Here is the lobby where I sat while I sipped hot chocolate at Brasstown Valley resort in northwest Georgia during the Christmas holidays a few years ago. This cozy resort is one of my favorites. It’s a perfect place to get away and relax. I really like this resort because it is not usually crowded, and a single woman can travel alone there without feeling weird. It’s a nice place to gather your thoughts and reflect. I usually sat, cuddled up in the lobby, reading a book in front of the huge fireplace.
Take a close look at the photo. See the chandelier? It’s made from deer antlers. Don’t worry. The antlers were discarded, so deer were not hurt just to get their antlers! The resort is full of rustic decorations that make you feel as though you are in an upscale lodge. That’s the point, I suppose!
And below, I’ve included a peek at a bedroom in the lodge at the resort. Cute isn’t it? I actually stayed in the hotel as opposed to the lodges, but I think that the lodges are special because of the large windows, giving you an incredible view of the mountains. This room is also awesome because it has its own fireplace. Definitely make sure that your room has a fireplace if you plan to visit in the winter. Again, the room is decorated in a shabby chic style that I love. I recall feeling very comfortable in my room at the resort’s hotel, but I wish that I’d stayed in the lodge.
The resort, called Georgia’s Mountain Resort, is located at 6321 Young Harris, Georgia. For reservations, call 800-201-3205.
